Dennis Seidenberg was given a one-year $1 million deal by the New York Islanders today. The deal was initially reported as rumored by TSN’s Darren Dreger, only to be confirmed just a few minutes later.
The ex-Boston Bruin was bought out with two years remaining on a four-year $16 million contract signed at the start of the 2013 season. He finished last year with 11 points in 61 games for the Bruins, as they missed the playoffs for a second year in a row.
Seidenberg spent the last seven years with the Bruins totaling 17 points, 164 penalty minutes in 401 games winning a Stanley Cup with the team in 2011.
