The New York Islanders are coming off a 3-2 OT loss to the lowly Coyotes. The game beforehand the Islanders beat the Blackhawks 7-3 in Chicago. These two games can be a microcosm of the 2017-2018 season for the Isles.
At the time of writing this, the Islanders have 53 points and sit just outside a playoff spot. The Rangers currently hold the second Wild Card spot with 53 points so the Islanders are right there. The Islanders have scored a league-high 170 goals but have given up a league-high 179.
This has left fans sitting in Limbo trying to figure out what to think of them.
