After a slow start transitioning in the AHL, New York Islanders prospect Otto Koivula has made his presence felt with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. In 57 games with the club, he has 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists).
Koivula’s a big guy standing at six-foot-four and 220 pounds. The hope, at least from me, is that he can turn into the team’s third line center in the future. He made the switch from left wing over to center and it’s paid dividends.
Yesterday, as the Sound Tigers took on the Toronto Marlies the game needed a shootout.
