Last year, the New York Islanders brought in Luca Sbisa as a depth move. He only played nine games with the club, with one assist and an average ice time under 15:30. Sbisa was the quintessential veteran healthy scratch.
His best year in the league came as a 22-year-old when he had 24 points in 2011-2012 with the Anaheim Ducks. He spent one year with the Vegas Golden Knights, where he played just 30 games, and then stopped on Long Island as a 29 year old last year.
Now, he’s back on a PTO and he’s already made an impact in training camp.
