After two seasons with the New York Islanders in some capacity, defenseman Luca Sbisa has been picked up from the Islanders by the Anaheim Ducks.
Sbisa was initially brought in by the Islanders on a professional try out by Lou Lamoriello as a depth defenseman before the 2018-19 season. He played well enough by Lou and Barry Trotz’s standards that they signed the veteran defenseman to a single year $1.5 million deal.
But as the 2018-19 season got underway, and Sbisa got some games under his belt, the Islanders realized they made a mistake.
