I was unable to watch the games the past few weeks live so I got a chance to re-watch a bunch and boy the New York Islanders need some help. They're slow, old, lazy, and seem to have less heart than some other teams.
Many fans have been angry leaving hateful comments on the New York Islanders page in frustration and I get that it's frustrating, but when I feel frustrated I look to how frustrated I was as a fan ten years ago. Can we say the word frustrated one more time? FRUSTRATED!
The best chance this team had to go deep in the last 20 years was the 01-02 season when they lost to Toronto in the first round because of the loss of their Captain Michael Peca and star d-man Kenny Jonsson (who were both injured maliciously by Toronto).
