Lou Lamoriello came in with a lot of hype, deservedly so, but the results just haven’t been pretty yet. The New York Islanders‘ fans have given Lou the benefit of the doubt given his resumé, but it doesn’t mean we’re not over his antics.
To start, he failed to re-sign one of the franchise’s best players. In fairness, it may have been a fool’s errand anyway, but nonetheless, he didn’t get it done.
As many will point out with a chuckle, he signed a slew of underwhelming forwards, a defenseman who doesn’t fill a need and traded for a more expensive yet extremely likable version of Ross Johnston (not to mention he also signed the same Ross Johnston long-term).
