After signing Leo Komarov earlier today, the New York Islanders have added another veteran to their roster in 34-year-old Valtteri Filppula.
According to Arthur Staple of The Athletic, the deal is a one-year deal that will pay Filpulla $2.75 million.
With the signing, the Islanders bring on a player with 876 regular-season games on his résumé as well as a Stanley Cup championship with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008.
In those 876 regular-season games, Filppula has scored 168 goals and 463 points including 11 goals and 33 points in 81 games with the Philadelphia Flyers this past season.
