I wanted all New York Islanders fans to keep getting reminded of the positive memories from this team, and that there will be more to come. The team is headed in the right direction, and I have complete faith of a deep playoff run next year. Josh Ho-Sang and Ryan Strome will be the difference, each contributing 50 plus points.
Now, let’s look back at one of my favorite playoff moments of New York Islanders history. It’s the 2001-2002 NHL Playoffs, first round, and it’s the Leafs and Islanders. Eric Cairns knocks out Shayne Corson and heads to the locker room holding one finger up to the Islanders crowd (and not the middle finger).
