The 2019-20 NHL regular season opens tomorrow. Wild things will happen in that seven-month window of regular season hockey. Just like it did for last season for the New York Islanders.
Before a puck was dropped on the regular-season or even the preseason the New York Islanders were written off. They didn’t stand a chance at making the playoffs. Not only did they make the playoffs with a 103 point season, but they also made it to the second round after sweeping the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round.
That wasn’t supposed to happen. So what else isn’t supposed to happen this season?
