We knew cuts were coming. Heck, we could even pencil in when they would take place. With a break between games on the New York Islanders preseason schedule, it was no surprise that cuts were announced by 9 AM on Thursday morning.
The training camp roster was cut from 64 players to 52. A total of 12 players were sent back to the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers or back to their respective junior teams.
That leaves the Islanders with two groups of players for the remainder of camp.
No Big Suprise
Looking at the names cut there isn’t much of a surprise who isn’t at camp any longer.
