Ray Pfeifer was honored by the New York Islanders last year. On April 2, 2016 Ray Pfiefer dropped the ceremonial puck between John Tavares and Sidney Crosby. He wasn’t much for self promotion but as a lifelong fan, he couldn’t resist the opportunity.
Pfeifer, who was an FDNY Firefighter during the attacks of 9/11 was a true hero in every since of the word. Pfeifer slept in his fire truck for a week after the attacks and then spent the next eight months going through the rubble.
