While the New York Islanders are playing a mostly veteran team at the NHL level, they have a ton of prospect depth down below in the AHL and worldwide. One of those prospects who’s impressed this year is Sebastian Aho.
Aho was selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. The Sweedish born defenseman was playing his hockey in the SHL previously to being selected and he put up fine numbers, 30 points in 50 games, in the year of his selection.
The following year, Aho decided to leave the SHL and come over to America to play in the AHL.
