Fresh off a Sweedish League championship Linus Soderstrom was gifted with a three-year entry level contract by the New York Islanders. The 20-year old was drafted in the fifth round (95th) overall in 2014 by Garth Snow and company.
During his team’s championship run he posted a 12-4 record with a 2.11 GAA and a .922 sv%. His regular season numbers were even more impressive.
On the entire season, he had a 1.34 GAA. It was good enough for the best GAA in the entire league. It’s now a matter of if that success will translate over to the NHL.
