The New York Islanders are holding a memorial to remember Al Arbour, their legendary coach, on Monday August 29th. The event will take place at Northwell Health Ice Center. Doors will open at 10:30am and the ceremony will begin one hour after that. For more info check it out on the Islanders website.
The service is taking place one year and a day after Arbour passed away. Due to my age, I didn’t get to have the pleasure of seeing Al Arbour coach on a regular basis. Although when the Islanders brought Al back to coach his 1,500 game I did have a glimpse of it, it will always be a fond Islanders memory of mine.
