I was dead wrong when it came to Jan Kovar. When the New York Islanders gave Kovar $2 million I assumed it would be for a shot to the second line center. He was coming off a down year in the KHL, but over the course of his career, he has three 60 point seasons to his name.
The New York Islanders gave him a chance in training camp to make the cut and he was outplayed by Brock Nelson, who’s proven that he’s deserving of the second line center role.
The Islanders and Kovar decided to part ways as it seemed he wasn’t willing to go down to the AHL.
