The New York Islanders brought in Jordan Eberle to play next to John Tavares. That combination didn’t last very long, Doug Weight moved Josh Bailey back to the top line and put Eberle on the second line.
Initially, I was critical of this move. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Bailey has flourished with Tavares as the two are arguably the hottest forwards in the league.
As for Jordan Eberle, he has found some amazing chemistry with rookie Mathew Barzal. Take a look at Eberle’s sweet goal from last night set up by Barzal:
