The Medicine Hat Tigers season came to an end yesterday. What does that have to do with the New York Islanders one might ask? Well, their 20-year-old former 2016 draft pick is now available to come to the U.S.
The Islanders selected David Quenneville in the seventh round of the 2016 draft. He’s an offensive defender who really broke onto the scene this year.
In 70 games Quenneville put up 80 points (26 goals, 54 assists). He led the entire WHL in points for defensemen. That’s why Arthur Staple reported that the Islanders are trying to get Quenneville in here on an ATO (tryout contract) with the Sound Tigers.
