When I hear the name Brock Nelson I don’t necessarily think leader. Heck, there’s no way I would want the New York Islanders to give him an “A” on his sweater. Apparently, Jeff Blashill thinks otherwise.
This year Brock will be an Assistant Captain for team USA in the IIHF World Championship. I think Blashill is making a mistake here.
It is only a letter on the jersey, which isn’t a huge deal, but it’s the principle that doesn’t make sense. I’ve watched Brock Nelson a lot over the last few years and I don’t see a leader.
