The New York Islanders made well on retaining their first key free agent by signing Brock Nelson to a multi-year deal.
The team announced that Nelson was inking a six-year deal to remain with the Isles. Arthur Staple of The Athletic is reporting that the deal is worth $6 million AAV.
Lou Lamoriello and the Islanders had been “really grinding away” for the last several weeks to finish an extension. Nelson was one of the Islanders most productive forwards this post-season and arguably most consistent center all year.
