In March of 2019, Andrew Ladd’s season came to an end due to a torn ACL. The New York Islanders got only 26 games from Ladd, who came with a $5.5 million cap hit for the 2018-2019 season.
In those 26 games, he was fairly productive, putting up 11 points with Val Filppula and Leo Komarov. A pace of 35 points over a full season is livable with for a third-line player.
Ladd was back on the ice yesterday with the New York Islanders vets in an orange non-contact jersey. There seemed to be some concern that he wouldn’t be good to go for training camp but he is inching back, and skating even without contact is a good sign.
