Ten games left and tied for first place. The New York Islanders are at a spot they haven’t finished in quite some time. Go all the way back to the 2001-2002 season, and the Isles finished second in the Atlantic, one point behind the Flyers. It sure is exciting to watch the team be competing for first place and home ice this late in the season.
Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal are stepping it up at the right time. Lee now has goals in four straight games, and will surely finish with 30 plus on the season.
