We’re now two months away from the 2019-20 NHL season and anxiety is growing for New York Islanders fans. Because as it stands this roster is likely going to be the same one as last season. And while the Islanders did manage to get 103 points in 2018-19, they still have some gaps to address.
Namely at the top of the roster. The Islanders top-six forward group just isn’t strong enough. Mathew Barzal, Anders Lee, Brock Nelson, Josh Bailey, and Jordan Eberle is a good group of players. But that’s only five names, not six.
The sixth man last season was a toss-up between Anthony Beauvillier and Tom Kuhnhackl.
