In the next four days, the New York Islanders play three times; twice against teams nipping at their heals for wild card position in the Eastern Conference. For now, and the remainder of 2015, it’s important to make sure they separate themselves from teams below them. That may seem defeatist, but, while doing so they will climb the Metro division ladder.
Teams at the top of the division (The New York Rangers and Washington Capitals) have given themselves some room with great play in November. The Pittsburgh Penguins have had hiccups as their top players continue to be inconsistent and it remains to be seen if they can pull it together.
