CALGARY, Alberta — Josh Bailey scored with 18 seconds left on the clock in overtime, Jaroslav Halak made 31 saves, and the Islanders rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Flames on Thursday night.
Thomas Hickey also scored as the Islanders improved to 3-0-0 on their season-high seven-game stretch of road games and remained three points behind the second-place Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. The Rangers beat the Blues 2-1 in St. Louis.
Jiri Hudler scored for Calgary, which fell to 1-5-1 in its last seven. Joni Ortio, making his second straight start, stopped 32 shots while falling to 0-5-1.
