It was some return for Josh Bailey, even if it didn’t end the way he would have liked.
The Islanders’ veteran winger returned after a two-game absence for an upper-body injury to score twice in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Lightning in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series on Tuesday night at Barclays Center.
Bailey had been hurt in Game 6 of their opening-round series against the Panthers, and missed the first two games in Tampa. He might have been happy to come back and contribute, but it was still soured when former Ranger Brian Boyle got the game winner in overtime.
