Legendary New York Islanders play-by-play announcer Jiggs McDonald was in town last week to host ceremonies for the final regular season game at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Fortunately for all of us, he periodically does guest spells on the team's broadcast filling in for Howie Rose, but they usually come during road trips.
While the man heard on so many classic calls made multiple trips to the Coliseum this year, he was visibly moved by the reception from fans last weekend.
