Robin Lehner was named the NHL’s second star of the month for January on Friday. and while the Islanders goalie appreciates the personal accolades, they’re far from his focus.
“It’s nice to get recognition but everything right now is about making the playoffs,” Lehner said. “That’s all I think about, that’s all we think about is the next game, the next week. The next two weeks is probably two of the most important weeks of our season. It’s hard to think about [that honor] right now. It’s going to be incredibly satisfying making the playoffs with this type of group and for these fans.
