Newsday came out with an exclusive report yesterday saying that the Islanders will not be playing any regular season games at the recently reopened Nassau Coliseum in the 2017-2018 season. This is despite there being an agreement in 2013 that the Islanders would play four games at the Coliseum when it opened up.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Other than the recent Peter Schwartz rumor there was no mention of the Isles making any type of return next year.
It seems more and more clear that the Isles will continue to play at the Barclays Center until their bid for the Belmont Park area goes through.
