The Islanders continue their five-game homecooking stand (there’s a Newark game in the middle) as the Detroit Red Wings visit Long Island.
The big news for the Isles is the absence of Anthony Duclair, out “long term” with a lower body injury, and who they’ve recalled to replace him. Offseason depth addition Liam Foudy will make his Islanders debut and become the first guy not named Josh Bailey to wear #12 since 2008 and the late Chris Simon.
The speedy Foudy impressed in training camp and has registered four assists in Bridgeport, so he was one of the prime candidates for a callup like this should it be needed.
