It was perhaps the worst loss of the season for the New York Islanders. Yeah, even after that 8-3 loss to the Nashville Predators in mid-December. Losing to the rebuilding New York Rangers 6-2 is worse.
The loss to the Rangers was the worst this season not only because it was against our bitter rival, but it was how it all materialized that gave it the "worst game yet" stink.
After completely dominating the first two minutes of the game the Islanders wilted like that flower you've been meaning to water for the last two weeks.
