In a game that mattered a whole lot the New York Islanders just didn’t show up. Sure, they scored three goals, two on a typically anemic power play, but at five-on-five the team just wasn’t there.
Which is odd because that’s supposed to be the Islanders bread and butter. They don’t typically need the power play to pull out a win because of how strong they are at even strength.
