The day started off great, with a fantastic pregame ceremony honoring Butch Goring. He gave a heartfelt speech and it was awesome to see his number 91 get raised up to the rafters to live on Islanders history.
It all went downhill from there for New York. Just 4:30 into the game, David Pastrnak netted his 47th goal of the year. Patrice Bergeron slid into Semyon Varlamov and it left an open net for Pastrnak who made no mistake about it, giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead.
Matt Grzelcyk would add another for Boston before the end of the period.
