Sam Flood, NBC Sports' executive producer, admitted last winter the network had erred in scheduling no Islanders games on its original national TV schedule for 2014-15. (The Islanders eventually did end up appearing on two games added to the schedule.)
Lesson learned. The network has scheduled five Islanders games for NBCSN on its 2015-16 schedule, which was released Monday, starting with home games Nov. 25 against the Flyers and Dec. 2 against the Rangers.
The Rangers are one of seven teams that will make a league-high 12 appearances on NBC or NBCSN, starting Oct. 7 when they visit Chicago for the Blackhawks' raising of their Stanley Cup banner.
