Robin Lehner meant so much to the New York Islanders both on and off the ice. On the ice, he was a solid figure in net posting a .930 save percentage and a 2.13 goals against average. The Islanders rode Lehner, and Thomas Greiss too, into the playoffs and through the first round.
His outstanding .936 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average in the playoffs is something fans will remember for a very long time. Despite his Vezina nomination for his fantastic statistical year, he will be remembered more so for his off-ice inspiration.
