Islanders re-sign veteran Eric Boulton to one-year deal

The Islanders will bring back some veteran experience to the organization for the 2016-17 season.

Eric Boulton, who turns 40 next month, has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the Islanders, the team announced Friday.

Boulton, a 15-year NHL veteran, appeared in six games with the Islanders last season. He did not record a point. In four seasons with the Isles, he has six points and 156 penalty minutes in 54 appearances.

A ninth-round selection by the Rangers in the 1994 draft, Boulton has 79 points in his NHL career, splitting time between the Sabres, Thrashers, Devils and Islanders.
