The Islanders reconvened on Sunday after the NHL’s extended holiday break and promptly placed four more players in COVID-19 protocol.
Anthony Beauvillier, Cal Clutterbuck, Zach Parise and Oliver Wahlstrom were placed in COVID-19 protocol while Simon Holmstrom, Cole Bardreau and defenseman Grant Hutton were reassigned to the Islanders’ taxi squad from their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport.
The Islanders are scheduled to play against the Red Wings on Wednesday night at UBS Arena after the NHL opted to postpone all games scheduled for Monday as the 32 teams exited the holiday break. The Islanders were scheduled to face the Sabres at Buffalo on Monday night.
