The dog days of the NHL’s calendar year are also usually the actual dog days. So it was nice of whatever controls the weather to make it look and feel like the second-worst kind of summer day there is—muggy, foggy, damp, ambiguous as to whether go with short or long sleeves. It made this dull time of NHL year seem a bit more normal.
(For posterity: the worst summer weather, of course, is 95°F and humid, especially over multiple, consecutive days. Those are the real dog days.)
