It was, indeed, a quieter NHL Trade Deadline than in years past. But big moves still went down, particularly in the East Division.
All things considered, the Islanders getting out ahead of the pack to nab Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac for a package centered around a first-round pick looks very strong. President and GM Lou Lamoriello wisely made his big move early, both setting the market and forcing other teams in the East to attempt to keep pace.
