The relationship between Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle is a humorous one. From day one, the two seemed to click very well. Originally, the New York Islanders brought Eberle in here to play next to John Tavares but that didn't last too long.
That 2017-2018 season also happened to be Mathew Barzal's rookie campaign where Barzy and Eberle linked up and put up phenomenal numbers as a second line.
The two have stuck together since, and even have a pretty humorous nickname gimmick where they call each other Gary on the ice. Well, yesterday was Eberle's birthday and Barzal couldn't let it go by without a little birthday chirp for his good pal.
