Islanders Make First 18 Training Camp Cuts

After their training camp’s first off day on Wednesday, the New York Islanders announced Thursday morning that an initial 18 cuts had been made.

No alarms, no surprises among this initial cut, which trims the camp roster to 52:

A dozen of the cuts are officially going to the Sound Tigers, again no surprises here with a mix of Bridgeport and Worcester (ECHL) returnees plus two goalie prospects from Europe:

Going back to juniors are these six:

Forwards: Felix Bibeau (2019 6th rounder, Québec Remparts, QMJHL), Cole Coskey (2019 7th rounder, Saginaw Spirit, OHL), Blade Jenkins (2018 5th rounder, Saginaw Spirit, OHL), Brett Neumann (undrafted, Oshawa Generals, OHL) and Reece Newkirk (2019 5th rounder, Portland Winterhawks, WHL)

Defenseman: Samuel Bolduc (2019 2nd rounder, Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, QMJHL)

Those remaining in camp are still in a mixed group, as evidenced by the first grouping at today’s skates:
