The Islanders finally had their play and the result come together. And their reward was leapfrogging the Rangers in the standings.
The Islanders put together a complete-and-cohesive performance in beating the Devils, 4-0, on Sunday night at Barclays Center in front of a rather engaged 13,259 late-matinee crowd.
It was the 10th game in a row in which Jack Capuano’s team gained at least one point, and the 11 points that separated them and the Rangers on the day before Thanksgiving have disappeared.
