To say it was a slow start for Jordan Eberle would probably be putting it too kindly. Yes, he was hurt and missed about 10 games but he went his first 14 games without a goal and just five assists to his name.
Yesterday, that finally changed for Eberle. In the second period against the Detroit Red Wings, the Islanders would get a 5-on-3 power play. They were unable to score on the two-man advantage but after it went back to 5-on-4 the puck bounced to Jordan Eberle with an open look.
This time, he slid the puck into the open net with a tap in goal and got a big hug from his Captain, Anders Lee.
