Islanders hope Nassau Coliseum environment will help vs. Penguins

The Islanders will be back at NYCB’s Nassau Coliseum and back at it against the Penguins on Monday night.

Their hope is that the former helps them with the latter after a lackluster 6-2 loss at Pittsburgh on Thursday night.

“I’d just say the intensity wasn’t there,” center Mathew Barzal said. “It was kind of obvious watching it. Against a team like that, you don’t want to go down a couple of goals.”

Goalie Robin Lehner, fully healthy after suffering a “tweak” last week, will make his first start since stopping 35 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss at Boston on Nov.
