Islanders hit right combinations in shutout victory over Flames

In this early part of the season, it’s all about tweaks for Islanders coach Jack Capuano.

So on Saturday in St. Louis, that meant scratching top-line right-wing Ryan Strome, and watching as his team earned a hard-fought overtime victory on the second leg of a back-to-back.

On Monday at Barclays Center, it meant putting Strome back in and shaking up his lines again, this time resulting in a 4-0 victory over the Flames, witnessed by 11,582.

“For coaches, you try to utilize guys that you think have the mobility and the speed that you can put on the ice,” Capuano said before the game, “because that’s what the opposition is doing.
