This week, we received some good news that Adam Pelech will be good to go for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, whenever that might be. Pelech last played on December 31, at which point the Islanders were 25-10-3 with the third-most points in the conference and fourth in the entire NHL.
Since that time, the Isles are 10-13-7, so clearly Pelech's impact was profound on this team. The Islanders, who at the time assumed Pelech was gone for the year (pre-corona) traded for Andy Greene.
In 10 games, Greene has three points and has averaged 16:32 of ice time per night, essentially third pair minutes.
