WASHINGTON — Home ice is theirs, and so are the Penguins.
The Islanders beat the resting Capitals 3-0 Saturday night in the regular-season finale — locking up home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, starting either Wednesday or Thursday. It was a tidy 29-save shutout for Robin Lehner, his sixth shutout of the season.
And with the Penguins getting a point in a 4-3 OT loss to the Rangers in Pittsburgh, they secured third in the division and a matchup with the Islanders.
