It’s incredible how good this team can look in some stretches and how bad they can look in others. The New York Islanders dropped yet another game in regulation to a team they, frankly, should have beaten.
I was probably a little too nice yesterday when I said they “could use” two points against the Arizona Coyotes. They needed them and got zero.
They’re still clinging to the final playoff spot. But last night’s loss puts them at 2-5-1 in their previous eight contests following a four-game win streak. All of a sudden, they’re part of a crowded field of about five teams that will be competing for two wild cards.
