Islanders 5 (EN), Avalanche 2: Horvat gets the game winner as win streak extends to five

Out of nowhere, despite the injury crisis, the New York Islanders are red-hot. Four different goal scorers would contribute tonight against the Colorado Avalanche, and both of the new blueliners, Tony DeAngelo and Scott Perunovich, would pick up their first points as Islanders.

The penalty kill kept it together all game, so despite having zero power play opportunities, the Isles won the special teams battle. Anders Lee and Bo Horvat continued to put up points, each of them scoring tonight, and Alex Romanov had a great game, laying some big hits to stop Cale Makar and getting a goal of his own.
