Three in a row against the Flyers produced three distinctly different types of games.
This one was a tight match, somewhat surprising given the Flyers have given up goals in bunches of late with the Islanders scoring six last time out.
But it was still a second straight Islanders’ win. Anthony Beauvillier scored on a wraparound at 3:41 of overtime in a 2-1 victory on Monday night in Philadelphia to open what is, for now, a four-game road trip.
Beauvillier may have scored the winner with the teams skating four-on-four after the Islanders killed off the final seconds of Nick Leddy’s hooking penalty at 18:11 of the third period.
